These cute animals are Mexican axolotls (also known as Axolotl salamanders) and are called “six-horned dinosaurs” by aquarists and aquarium hobbyists because they have 6 small horns on their heads.

Although called dinosaurs, these strange fish are not as large as their name suggests.

Scientifically known as Ambystoma mexicanum , this is the only species of salamander that cannot escape its childhood form, it has a prolonged childhood state, and is closely related to the tiger salamander.

The larvae of this strange salamander cannot undergo metamorphosis (the lungs develop and come ashore), so the adults remain in the water and have external fins.

Although they can be found in the wild in lakes in Mexico, six-horned dinosaurs with strange colors such as green, blue, and pink like those in China are extremely rare.
