A giant whale weighing nearly 30 tons was discovered stranded on Popoyo beach in the town of Tola, Republic of Nicaragua on November 14 and died after 1 day of being motionless on the beach.
As soon as the whale was discovered washed ashore, dozens of tourists and local people tried to bring the whale back to the sea, but they all had to give up in exhaustion when night fell.
According to local officials, this is a rare species of humpback whale, nearly 18 meters long and has an average weight of about 29.5 tons.
People stood and watched helplessly as night fell because they could not return the whale to the sea.
