She shot to fame as a teenager with her hit Ocean Eyes, but Billie Eilish isn’t letting fame get to her head. In fact, her mum Maggie is her ‘advocate’ and one of her best friends
Billie Eilish has confessed she has never eaten meat and still sleeps in the same bed as her mum in a bombshell new interview.
The Bad Guy songstress opened up to Los Angeles Magazine about her relationship with mum Maggie and how she feels about plant-based foods. She admitted the pair are “around each other all the time”, with others in the industry often mistaking Maggie Baird for Billie’s manager.
Getting candid, Billie admitted she is beginning to see her mum as a person – and not just as her mother – for the first time. She giggled: “I didn’t realise that she had a name for years. It was Mom!”
She added: “They’re not experts. I tend to think of my parents as superhuman, especially my mom. I’ve put her through so much, and she’s only ever been there for me. Truly, she’s my best friend. I still sleep in bed with my mom all the time.”

Later in the interview, Billie also admitted that she’s never tried meat in her life – and has attached her name to a new vegan eatery in Silver Lake, a neighbourhood in LA. The restaurant, Argento, inspires visitors to eat less meat without being branded as explicitly vegan.
Billie grew up vegetarian, splurging on dairy produce but leaving meat out completely. She admitted that she “loved cheese and milk” and was “very, very against” going completely vegan – but she later followed in her parents’ footsteps and ditched dairy when she realised how bad the industry is for climate change.

She confessed: “I want it to be clear that I’m not preaching. All I’m saying is, “Hey, you ever hear of this, of how much water it takes to produce a f***ing burger?” I’ve never, ever had meat. I became vegan, like, 10 years ago.”

Billie, however, says she “respects everybody’s culture” and admits that everyone has “different circumstances” when it comes to their diet. In a hilarious response at the end of the Q&A, when asked if she was heading to sleep in her mum’s bed, Billie responded: “Probably.”
Maggie joined her daughter for a stunning cover shoot for the magazine, and the lookalike duo posed with their heads close together. Maggie donned a cream blouse while her daughter wowed in a see-through black top, netted with lace and featuring full-length sleeves.
Following the shoot, Billie opened up to her Instagram followers in an honest Q&A, as one begged for more information about her recent photoshoot, which saw Billie don boxing gloves and fishnets. They quizzed: “What was the boxing gloves shoot for?” as Billie responded: “Literally for sh**s and giggles.”
