Chelsea defender Malo Gusto is still yet to be seen in training this week after missing the club’s prior game through injury.
Pictures on The 5th Stand App have not seen the Frenchman in action, putting real doubt over what Mauricio Pochettino is going to do at the weekend with his team selection.
Gusto has been playing a steady deputy role this season to Reece James when he has been fit, in his first season as club captain.
However, the England international seemed to forget his duties last weekend during the heavy defeat to Newcastle.
He was sent off for two very foolish yellow cards, leaving his teammates to suffer late in the afternoon at St. James’ Park.
His one game suspension is now set to be served next weekend, with him not available for Brighton’s visit to Stamford Bridge.
Gusto not in training
Pochettino will be scratching his head for what to do in terms of this team selection.
Gusto has normally been the man to go to since his £30m move to Chelsea in place of James, however after missing last week’s game against Newcastle he wasn’t available.
Pictures that have emerged from training this week have still not shown the youngster in action.
Marc Cucurella has also been a go-to option this season when required to play in defence on that side. However, he will also not be present after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign.
The Argentine may well have to look to Axel Disasi to play the role, although he failed to impress when he featured there last time against Brentford.
His lack of attacking impotence was a particular low point, and this will certainly be on the manager’s mind if Gusto is not fit enough to feature.
