If you thought Rihanna planned on slowing down anytime soon, think again. FENTY X PUMA is back with a new collab titled “The Creeper Phatty,” which looks just as wild as it sounds. The collab will be available for pre-order starting 11/20, and at a $140 starting price point, this is one your wallet can’t ignore.

There is no second-guessing when Rihanna has a drop. They are unequivocally her, bloomed from a monolithic creative mind. From her original collaborations with the brand, to the bold, new release, her designs have challenged traditional sneaker trends while amplifying her decisive approach to style. When the duo first partnered back in 2015, she took the original creeper Puma had developed and maxed out the style, adding a rigged platform for height and dipping them in neutral tones of black and desert suede.

Think of this release as the eccentric cousin to those initials, cast in an electric color palette and re-designed with a bulbous shape. Of the three colorways, the Lavender Alert-Burnt Red-Gum (say that three times fast) is a clear standout from the rest. Designed in beautiful purple-hued suede and red detailing, the puff shape of the sneaker adds a touch of whimsy that echoes the colorful direction Rihanna has developed with her other FENTY lines. Or perhaps, this is a deep cut to her music video “Who’s That Chick” which sported similarly vibrant colors and energy (Lost in time, but the fans will know what’s up). For those who might not be as taken by the vibrancy of the first or second pair (which comes in a Speed Blue-Lime colorway), Rihanna also designed a traditional pair in Black with Warm White-Gum detailing. Though a touch more subtle, the swollen design of the shoes is an eye-catch and not for the faint of heart.

This recent release amplifies the history FENTY x PUMA has developed over the last eight years, taking those traditional designs and spinning them on their head. “She almost rejuvenated the whole classic platform sneaker trend with the Creeper,” Puma global creative director Heiko Desens told Footwear News.

The collab also comes at the heels of her launch earlier this summer, where the two, again, came together during Paris Fashion Week to unveil the FENTY x PUMA Avanti, which sold out almost as soon as they dropped before a later restock. “She moves culture, sets trends and she certainly can move our business. Fenty is stronger now than it was when she was with us before,” noted Bob Philion, president and CEO of Puma North America.

Though we all might be asking “Where is the music!” with the rumors of a pending tour, this latest release of the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty might be enough to hold the ravenous fans over… for now. Shop Rihanna’s new collection now on Puma.com.
