The three-bedroom home offers wood detailing throughout and a dark red home theater
Katy Perry may be considering leaving “American Idol,” but she’s still a “California Girl”—she just signed a contract for a $11 million home in Los Angeles’s Sierra Towers.
The 38-year-old pop star bought a “junior penthouse” at the Hollywood Hills skyscraper last week using a limited liability company that shares an Encino, California, address with another LLC of which she is the director, according to public records. Her eponymous shoe collection is registered to the same address.
Jen Kao, the daughter of billionaire Garmin founder Min Kao, was the seller of the residence, according to property records. She purchased the property in 2016 for $9.3 million.
The condo is about 3,000 square feet, with two bedrooms and three bathrooms, according to the listing with the Agency. The home was first listed in January for a hair under $12.5 million, the listing said.
Located on the top floor of the 31-level tower, the penthouse features dark-wood flooring and wood detailing throughout, listing photos show. That includes built-in shelving, a wood-framed wet bar and wooden cabinetry in the kitchen.
There’s a semi-open layout in the main area, with a dining room adjacent to the kitchen and living room, which offers floor-to-ceiling windows that lead to a deck that overlooks the city and mountains in the distance. There’s also a dark red home theater.
Perry—who is currently doing a residency in Las Vegas—has been in the news recently for reportedly considering an end to her six-year stint on “American Idol,” The Daily Mail first reported.
She’s no stranger to the real estate market. Last summer, she sold a Beverly Hills home for $18 million, Mansion Global reported. It’s just one of several big-ticket sales from the pop star.
Representatives for Perry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The listing agent declined to comment.
