Postecoglou, 58, has claimed the Premier League need to “bin” the idea of introducing a possible sin bin to the game, after claiming there is “not much wrong” with the game currently.

WHAT POSTECOGLOU SAID

Speaking to reporters, the Spurs boss made his feelings clear on the possible rule change. “Bin it, just bin the whole idea mate,” he said. “Just forget about it. I don’t understand why, and I’ve already said things on this kind of stuff, I just don’t know why they keep interjected themselves into the game. There’s not that much wrong with the game. Bin it mate.”

Earlier this week the game’s lawmaking body, International Football Association Board (IFAB), revealed they would “identify which levels were best to test” in terms of introducing a possible ten minute sin bin for cynical fouls. However, the idea has been met by strong opposition from Premier League bosses, with Everton’s Sean Dyche agreeing with Postecoglou that the idea was not needed.

WHAT NEXT FOR SPURS?

Regardless of the possible rule change, Postecoglou must now focus on getting his Spurs side back to winning ways, after they suffered their third defeat in a row to Aston Villa last weekend.

Spurs are currently sat in fifth place within the Premier League, after failing to record a win throughout the month of November. They will now face the tough task of an away trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City this weekend, as they look for a fresh start in December.
