According to Reuters, billionaire Elon Musk has sued OpenAI, CEO Sam Altman, and several others for violating agreements signed in 2015, when he helped found maker ChatGPT.

According to the lawsuit filed on February 29 in San Francisco (USA), Altman and Greg Brockman – co-founder of OpenAI – approached Musk to establish an open source, non-profit company to develop artificial intelligence technology for the “benefit of humanity”.

Musk’s lawyer said the company was then supported by Microsoft to seek profits, thereby violating the agreement.

OpenAI, Microsoft, and billionaire Musk have not responded to requests for comment from Reuters.

Elon Musk joined the founding of OpenAI in 2015 but has left the board of directors since 2018. He is also famous for running the electric car manufacturer Tesla and the social networking platform Twitter.
